City Paddle
FAQ
Q: So how much does it cost and what do I get?
A: 590 NT$ per person, but if you are a group
of 4 and/or book mid-week we’ll only charge 390NT$.
We supply in addition to the kayaks; life jackets, cold
drinks/snacks, information/light entertainment, transport
to put in spot, binoculars, a photo/video record.
Q: Have never paddled before, can I do it?
A: Our kayaks are easy to handle, most reasonably
fit and sensible people will have no problems.
Q: What do I need?
A: Sun-hat, drinking water. Diving booties
if you have them, otherwise shoes/sandals that can get
wet/dirty. Waterproof bags if bringing camera/cell phone/wallet
(just in case).
Q: Isn’t the water dirty?
A: It is unlikely you would really want to
go swimming in it (should not happen) and the occasional
splash is more than tolerable. The water is nutrient-rich,
but not polluted in the nasty chemical sense. Locals have
been eating out of these waters for a long time - nothing
to worry about.
Q: What's with the 5 am start!?!?
A: Duh...the sun. Often the sunrise
is excellent, and to avoid the vicious late morning rays.
More wildlife is visible earlier. And yes this is only
10/15 mins away from downtown Tainan, and no is not Anping
or Chiku.
If 5am really is too much, ask about evening (sunset)
trips, we may be able to accommodate you.
