Combo Action Weekend

FAQ

Q. How much does it cost? What is included?
A. 2900$. (1000$ deposit payable on booking, 1900$ at start of trip.) Should the trip be cancelled by Barking Deer (due to foul weather, missing road, etc) we will offer an alternative itinerary or a full refund. Deposit not refunded should you cancel for any reason (but may be used as discount on later activities). Included: Transport, meals (wholesome, western menu), snacks, electrolyte (sports) drinks, accident insurance (1,000,000$), tents, sleeping bags/mats, cooking/dining gear, introduction to the environment/culture, mountain permits, first-aid kit, photo/video record. Discounts for groups/weekday bookings.

Q. What is not included?
A. Personal items, alcohol – can stop on the way to buy though!

Q. Will I be able to keep up? Am I fit enough?
A. Yes, these activities are designed for the active and adventurous, but are fine for those not in the very best of shape, we won’t leave you behind! The high mountain hike can be a bit steep and exhausting; if too much, you can stay where you are and wait for the others to return from the summit on original route. The cycling is almost all downhill, should the few uphill bits intimidate you, just wait for the support vehicle to come along – and jump in. The jungle walk/river trek can involve a bit of scrambling and twisting but should be fine for most.

Q. What do I need to bring?
A. Change of clothes, hat for sun protection, cycling shorts/helmet if you have them, swimming gear, your medical insurance card (just in case), camera, diving booties and hiking boots if you have them otherwise shoes suitable for walking in/getting wet, personal medicine/toothbrush.

Q. I don’t have a good bicycle, can you provide one?
A. Yes, we can rent you one, 150$/day.

Q. Will I be able to do all the other things you mention, the rafting, aboriginal dancing etc?
A. Probably not. We take into consideration the circumstances at the time (weather, seasons, tribal festivals etc) and offer you what is feasible. Tell us if there is something you really want to see/do and we will do our best.

Q. What next?
A. E-mail us. We will need a copy of your ARC or passport for permits/insurance. Tell us if you have any particular dietary (vegetarian, food allergies), or medical issues (confidentially assured) we should know about.
